History
The firm Delpost Du Preez and Associates was established in 1983 as a Partnership to undertake design work and contract administration as Electrical and Electronic Engineers in private practice. The Founding Partners of the firm are Clement Delport and Pieter Du Preez. In 2003 the firm changed from a partnership into a private company Delportdupreez (Pty)Ltd.
The firm joined the Pretoria Chamber of Commerce as a full member in 1983 and subscribes to the principles of free enterprise and equal opportunity for all.
The members of the firm joined the SAACE (South African Association of Consulting Engineers) as full voting members in 1986.
In 1989 the firm received it's first appointment to manage a multi-disciplinary contract incorporating electrical, mechanical, civil, structural and cost engineering disciplines. Since then the firm had completed several projects as the managers of multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
A highlight in the firm's history is the appointment in 1995 to manage the Olifants-Sand River Water Transfer Project. Phases 1 and 2 of this project had since been completed at a total cost of R 220 000 000. The works had been completed in Budget and on schedule. Phase 1 had been awarded the 1997 SAACE / Construction World Design Award for Engineering Excellence in the "Multi-disciplinary (including Project Management)" category.
Another highlight in the firms history was the appointment in 2004 as the project Co-ordinators for the VRESP project, a R 2,3 billion water supply project to supplement the water supply to the Eastern Subsystem of the Vaal River System. The client is the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry.
